Cannot be anything against the wind

Flatform is an artist group founded in 2006 and based in Milan and Berlin. The group works in video and time based installations including mobile installations. Our work is moving along an ideal border-line, the one of meaning, which articulates the difference between possibility and impossibility, between movement and pose (pause). In our works the impossible impends on the possible at least as much as the possible verifies the impossible. The movement instead is a path on which to proceed with the knowledge of the world, abandoning physical reality or linear time.

57.600 seconds of invisible night and light (2009) We asked 12 people to walk 4 identical routes through the course of one day and one night, always attempting to repeat the actions of the first time. As they moved they concentrated on their steps and move as if consumed by a single thought, unaware of the passage of time. CAMERA Andrea Gorla CAST Andrea Belloni, Laura Cagnati, Sara Calzolari, Chiara Carugo, Roberto Cazzani, Alisson Favoto, Marco Forni, Silvia Galli, Luca Monno, Sebastiao Marques, Jean Carlos Pereira Cardozo, Paolo Volonté EDITING Marco Forni

Cannot be anything against the wind (2010) Sequences of landscapes shot in an area of 60 km make up mosaics of places and reference axes constantly changing and that do not exist in our surroundings. In this video bodies are not near or far. They are large or small. The horizons change and no space is independent from the viewer. Incorporating only memory, the landscape is seen in a variety of speeds and movements that apply a bodily logic to the vision.
