Caitlin Berrigan (United States, 1981) has spent half her life in California and the other living in New York City, Boston, Paris and Berlin. She holds degrees from Hampshire College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Driven by a desire to engage with the intimate social dimensions of power and politics, Berrigan works as an artist across aesthetic media and between disciplines. Her conceptual practice spans performance, video, photography, sculpture, text and participatory public interventions. She favors time-based media and spatial aesthetics to embody imperceptible forces. In evoking fluids, food, biopolitics, social economies and pathetic gestures, she is seeking the productive space of becoming unsettled, and how absurdity and the uncanny allow us to reconsider that which seems obvious.
