Sophie DelaporteBorn in 1971, Sophie Delaporte is a french artist who lives between Paris and NY. After studying photography in l' ENSLL Louis Lumière and in l' Université Paris 8, she moved to london and started to work for I-D magazine.
Her work is often published in international papers and has been shown in several solo exhibitions in Paris (Galerie Marion Meyer), London (Scream Gallery), NY (Vanina Holasek, Sous les étoiles, HPgrp Gallery) and Tokyo (HPgrp Gallery and Galerie 21).
Vicki Goldberg wrote about her : "Sophie Delaporte is a French fashion photographer who is on permanently good terms with fantasy and a cheerfully offbeat approach. She has a distinctive sense of color, a fabulist's imagination, an edge of surrealism, and a knack for ambiguous narrative".

VIDEO DESCRIPTION / SYNOPSIS :
Color Abstraction : In a small room, a young woman dressed with an overall build and deconstruct fragile installations. In this video, Sophie Delaporte offers to Melissa Mourer Ordener, performance artist, to be her double. The muse turns into an artist, and the artist into a muse. By filming her optical sculptures, Sophie Delaporte questions herself about the creative process. Those ephemeral sculptures, invisible to the human eye, tend toward abstraction. They are playing with the limits of our vision and our imagination.
